Pay, Passion or Prestige? – Fairness in labour relations in an EU context
Locatie: Amsterdam
On the development of Fair Practice awareness in the European cultural sector | West Satellite CAE
On May 8 and 9 the BEYOND satellite is organised by Kunsten ’92 and will be part of the two-day program surrounding Europe Day. BEYOND invites cultural professionals, policymakers and sector representatives to explore what fairness in labour relations means in today’s European context. Through dialogue across national and European perspectives, participants will reflect on shared values, emerging challenges and concrete opportunities for strengthening fair practice across borders.
The programme combines talks, panel discussions, workshops, networking moments and peer-to-peer exchanges. At the core of the BEYOND is a design sprint, for creators, advocates, collectives, funds and organisations. The design sprint offers a hands-on approach to reflecting on values, discussing ethical dilemmas, and co-creating action plans around fairness. By conducting this design sprint in a European context, BEYOND aims to contribute to the ongoing development of Fair Practice in Europe and thus help build a more just, sustainable, and resilient cultural sector.
This BEYOND Satellite is organised by Kunsten ’92 and realised in collaboration with Culture Action Europe and EUNIC Netherlands. It is co-funded by the European Union and powered by the Alliance for Socially Engaged Arts and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The BEYOND takes place within the wider Europe Day programme hosted by DutchCulture, Creative Europe Desk NL, European Cultural Foundation, and EIT Culture & Creativity.
We warmly invite you to join us in May 2026 to think, test and build beyond borders.
